Thomas Mwingo Ziru is a Casework Intern at the Independent Medico-Legal Unit (IMLU), where he actively contributes to efforts aimed at documenting, addressing, and seeking redress for victims of torture, cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment in Kenya. His work at IMLU reflects a deep commitment to human rights, access to justice, and the protection of human dignity.

Prior to joining IMLU, Thomas served as an Assistant Court Clerk at the Kiambu High Court, an experience that sharpened his practical understanding of court administration and the rule of law. This equipped him with a strong foundation in legal procedure and institutional practice.

Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with Information Technology from Tom Mboya University. His interdisciplinary training positions him at the intersection of criminal justice, human rights advocacy, and technology, enabling him to bring both analytical rigor and a rights-based perspective to his work.
