Sylvia Sein Leiyian serves as the Technical Lead for Partnerships and Community Engagement at the Independent Medico-Legal Unit (IMLU), where she leads strategic collaborations with civil society organizations, community networks, development partners, and faith-based institutions to advance torture prevention, human rights protection, and social cohesion. She has extensive experience in programme coordination, advocacy, grant development, stakeholder engagement, and community-based peacebuilding initiatives across Kenya. Her work focuses on strengthening grassroots accountability mechanisms, survivor-centered approaches, and multi-sectoral partnerships that promote justice and institutional reform.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Resolution and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Global Governance and Human Rights.
