As Head of Finance at the Independent Medico-Legal Unit (IMLU), Carolyn Njange provides strategic leadership in financial management, institutional sustainability, donor compliance, and fiduciary accountability. With over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, she plays a critical role in ensuring sound financial stewardship and strengthening systems that support IMLU’s human rights and governance programmes.

Carolyn has extensive expertise in financial planning and management, statutory compliance, fund management, financial risk mitigation, and the design of robust financial systems that meet both Kenyan regulatory requirements and international donor standards. This experience has been instrumental in supporting the effective implementation of multi-donor programmes and advancing organizational accountability.

Passionate about transparency and financial integrity, she is committed to ensuring that resources are managed responsibly to support IMLU’s mission of promoting accountability, protecting survivors of torture and related human rights violations, and contributing to a torture-free society.

Carolyn holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from Kenyatta University. A Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), she is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK).
